Department of Computer Science

Towson University

The Computer and Information Sciences (COSC) Department

The Computer and Information Sciences (COSC) Department at Towson University is part of the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. This is one of the largest departments at the university, and a number of degree programs are offered. United States Naval Academy

Computer Science Department

The computer science department at the United States Naval Academy is where students can earn their bachelor of science degree in computer science or in information technology. This is nationally recognized as one of the top programs in the country. Once their service in the Navy is complete, students with degrees from this department will often go on to work as software engineers, as game developers, software designers and many other computer focused disciplines. Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department

These courses will be made up of three core courses, one elective and 18 credit hours that will be designated as research for the student’s doctoral dissertation. Ph.D. students will be required to write and defend their dissertation, they will need to pass a comprehensive exam as well as a preliminary exam and will be required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
